Nowadays cheap watches have flooded into the market.And it is common to throw away broken watches without repairment.To be honest, I have quite many broken watches at home. I have serval successful DIY attempts with these broken watche bands. Therefore, I am qualified to share my DIY experience with you.

(1)Transform it into a “ring”.whether it is  stainless steel,gold-plated,or even ceramic, you can convert it into a very personalized ring.However,female watches are good choice here since such watches have more narrow bracelets. In fact, you can pick male bracelets for this DIY as well. In my oppinion, the style and workmanship of K gold rings that sold in the shipping mall are not as good as “rings” converted from watch bands.

There are several forms in connection between the bracelets including: wire dowel,flexible connection bolt.So you need some simple tools to dismantle bracelets,such as: tweezer,small hammer,steel punch. You can determine the amount of bracelet link according to the bracelet width and the thickness of your fingers.In general,it takes 9-15 links.But in order to wear a fit ring you are supposed not to select too many links. The picture below shows you how my DIY “ring” looks like.

(2) Make it into a supporting base. Precious and small bottles like perfume bottle and timepiece oil bottle are easy to get broken by a push.Pick “tank chain” bracelets ,then string them into a ring. In the end, you can bring more stability to bottles by putting such ring around the bottom of these small bottles.

Repairing and recycling old things is a life attitude actually. It can improve your manipulative ability and creative thinking ability. Wonderful things don’t necessarily cost you much money. Stop throwing old and broken things and have a try if you are interested in such DIY stuff.

Everything needs a change from time to time even if just for freshness.Just pick my home furniture as an example, beds and tables in my house will be exchanged every 7 or 8 years.

There is no a saying that watch can not be worn without  watch bands. You can sew it into a bag , use it as pendent of necklace …….

Recently, I have a DIY on my watch-sew a quartz watch into a wirstband(as you can see in the picture below).Wristband can be viewed as sport or outdoor leisure goods and be worn in sports generally. It is elastic,making it able to  stick to the wrist.Also, it is quite sweat-absorbent.Hence,I enjoy wearing it going for an outing at weekend.

This DIY process goes as follow: first use a scissors to cut off the two straps ,only leaving a appropriate length.Then make sewing holes with an awl.Third sew the watch to the wristband with solid fine line. However, make sure you sew it on the center which will entitle the watch a balanced sense visually.The picture below shows the instrument I used at the DIY process.

Creativity without limits. DIY is fun and easy. Just take a little time and simple action ,you can have such DIY fun in your daily life as well.
