These Are Some Of The Disavantages Of Mutual Funds

November 4, 2011 Posted by admin

Mutual funds pool money from investors, who are constantly saving into the fund and at the same time, others are withdrawing from the fund, forcing the investment managers to keep large sums of money as liquid cash. This is one disadvantage of a mutual fund because, keeping liquid cash is detrimental to the growth of a portfolio since, it ties the money. The money is not invested in productive endeavors, thereby reducing the benefits that could have been accrued.

The various fees charged include shareholders fees, which come in the form of loads and redemption fees. Loads are divided into front load fund, back load fund, constant load fund as well as no load fund, calculated as a percentage of the amount of stock you wish to buy or sell. Annual fund operating fees include the cost of keeping shareholders records and financial statements, marketing and advertisement fees. As an investor who is only starting out on investment, it would be wise if you could start up with funds that have low investment requirements.

A front load fund entails paying the commission that would accrue up front and in a back load fund, you pay the commission upon selling all or part of your holding. A constant load fund deducts commissions on a regular basis, while a no load Fund does not charge any commission. There are many no load funds out there and in most instances, they out perform the loaded funds since all your money goes into buying shares. There are also many examples of load funds out there, but the most prominent ones are the index mutual funds.

What It Entails To Close Business Officially

November 3, 2011 Posted by admin

Even though one does not start a business with the intention of closing in mind, it is helpful to have a strategy on how to officially close it, if and when need arise. There are many issues that may push an entrepreneur to close down a business, some are social, others are legal, while others are finance related. Whatever the reason for the closedown, there are steps that one must carefully consider before declaring the business officially closed.

Much of what needs to be done may depend on the type of business ownership. This is because, when there are more stakeholders, decision making may be biased and may bring up a lot of protocol. One of the most important things to do is to vote for the close of the business. If the enterprise involves more than one overseer or director, minutes of the meeting in which it was decided that the business would be closed should be taken and filed as well as presented to the major stakeholders.

This will show that it was decided without controversy that the venture would head down that road. If your business is registered with the Small Business Development agency, you have to inform them that you are officially closed. The next thing is to cancel or to go back to your books of accounts and see which creditors need to be paid, the pending bills as well as all other dues that need to be taken care of. These will include taxes and all outstanding debts.

Once this is done, surrender all operational documents like trading licenses, operational permits and all other certificates acquired from the government or elsewhere. Once you are done with the above step, notify your creditors, employees, clients as well as other stakeholders that you are now officially closed.

Buying Cigars from Cuba

July 3, 2010 Posted by admin

Every cigar aficionado knows that the very best cigars come from Cuba.  Unfortunately, buying the best can often be a risky proposition.  But many cigar enthusiasts are willing to take the risk to get a taste of the very best.  If you’re wondering just how one would get their hands on a box of Cubans, read on.  Because of the relationship between the United States and Cuba, know that there are a lot of people looking to take advantage of cigar aficionados.  Purchasing Cuban cigars should be done with great caution in order to avoid getting duped.

First, know that importing cigars from Cuba is considered illegal.  The United States placed economic sanctions on the Cuban government in 1963.  Ever since then, Cuban cigars have become the holy grail of cigar enthusiasts.  There is, however, one loophole: visitors to Cuba who return from a sanctioned and licensed visit are allowed to bring back cigars.  However, visitors are not able to bring back more than $100 worth of cigars, and they must be intended for personal use, and not for resale.

Any other ways of obtaining Cuban cigars is considered illegal.  It is in fact illegal to buy, sell or trade Cuban cigars in the United States.  Fines for illegal trading, buying or selling of Cuban cigars may face up to $55,000 in civil fines.  This type of fine, however, is quite rare.  The more likely scenario is that you’ll have your cigars confiscated.

When purchasing a box of Cuban cigars, be prepared to fork over quite a bit of your cash.  Prices can range from about $150 to $500 or more.  If you’re offered a box below these prices, chances are it may not be the real thing.  Most Internet businesses that sell purportedly genuine Cuban cigars tend to be imitations.  Always avoid shops or retailers that offer “discounted” Cuban cigars.

How to get your hands on the real thing?  The easiest way to get a box of authentic Cuban cigars is to head north to Canada.  Buy them in Canada and repackage them so that they are not in their original Cuba packaging.  Remove the rings and place the cigars in a different box.  Customs agents tend to not inspect cigars carefully, and it is generally not considered a serious offense to bring Cuban cigars into the United States.  In fact, many clerks at tobacco shops will even offer to repackage Cuban cigars for you.

Buying a Marble Cigar Ashtray

June 6, 2010 Posted by admin

If you’re looking for an astray online you should have no problem finding the right ashtray for you in a very short period of time. I needed a new cigar ashtray not long ago for my home office. I wanted something that had an expensive look and feel to it, but I didn’t want it to actually be expensive. Anyhow, I thought a nice marble cigar ashtray would be a nice addition to my home office. Especially if I could find this marble cigar ashtray in a dark color, preferably black. I thought I would check online first to see what kind of prices I could expect to pay for a nice marble cigar ash tray.

I jumped on my favorite search engine, Yahoo.com, and typed in my search term “black marble cigar ashtray” and waited for the results. I received over 300,000 results for the keyword phrase black marble cigar ashtray. Needless to say it took some digging to find exactly what I wanted, but when I saw it I knew instantly that this was the right cigar ashtray for my home office.

I landed on the website ashtraysearch.com and started browsing their cigar ashtrays when I found this amazing black marble square ashtray that almost jumped off the page at me. Made of solid black marble, this cigar ashtray is an impressive 1¼ thick. At the current time the marble cigar ashtray is going for $39.99 so it seemed like a really good deal. I jumped on it and ordered one for the office off the ashtraysearch.com website which sells Amazon.com products. Actually, I ordered two of them since my brothers birthday is right around the corner and he also smokes cigars. For less than a hundred bucks I had two brand new black marble square ashtrays including the shipping costs!

A few days later I received a package in the mail from Amazon.com. I knew exactly what it was as I hadn’t ordered anything online other than the ashtrays lately. I promptly ripped the box open to check out my new cigar ashtrays. I then took the marble ashtrays out of the box to inspect for any damages as sometimes packages do get damaged in transit. Luckily both of my marble cigar ashtrays were in perfect condition with no problems. I immediately took the ashtray to its final resting place on the corner of my desk.

In the end, finding a marble cigar ashtray for my office was a snap. The world wide web really makes life easy for us lazy people that like to shop online. Thanks to ashtraysearch.com I was easily able to find an ashtray that fit my needs and budget.

Larry Haywood operates ashtraysearch.com which is dedicated to being the webs premier ashtray portal. Browse all types of ashtrays or read our ashtray reviews.

Tobacco, Cigarettes, Cigars, Smokeless Tobacco, Chewing Tobacco, Pipe Tobacco And Anything Else I Left Out.?

May 28, 2010 Posted by admin

I buy tobacco by the pound and roll my own cigarettes. I paid $14.49 for it. Sense the Tax rape it is now $60.00 per pound. The cheapest I can get it is $45.00 Per Pound, but there is no way to get it because of the run on it and the discount stores will not carry it anymore due to a deposit that has to be retained for it. The cheapest generic Pack Cigarette is now $5.00. The premium Cigarettes Went off the chart. I know not Everyone is stopping smoking. I know there is a solution for us financially challenged people to continue smoking. What is it? Spill your guts, tell your secrets, tell you resources and give me and or the rest of us a reliable connection.
Oh! And FYI to those non-smokers out there. I appreciate your concern for mine and everyone elses health that uses tobacco, but this is not the question being addressed here. I am addressing those hard core, dyed in the wool tobacco users. If you are so concerned about our healths, why don’t you tell and or get everyone concerned ( medical field, government, ect.ect) to quit making it so difficult to stop useing tobacco products ie. fleecing us with the high prices of those products that enable us to stop.
You that don’t have an idea about tobacco addiction, please refrain from making any comments or remarks.
This is serious as you have no idea the affects of withdraw from tobacco use.
There is going to be a bunch of ANGRY! Grouchy! PISSED OFF! people ready to kick butt on or about the 12th hour of withdraw. It don’t make you sick or weak or any of those other things that junkies go through, You just get angry very fast and your adridline kicks in high speed and become aggressive.
Unfortunealty ladies and gentlemen, the problem with getting tobacco from sources ie. indian reservations or on-line, by the time you pay the shipping and taxes to get it into texas it come out to the same price as if I bought it here.

As far as smoking a pipe, well lets think about that, I buy bag tobacco, which is also used as pipe tobacco but much cheaper than pipe tobacco. Please read the question thouroughly and understand what your reading before you answer. Thank you.

Socialism vs Capitalism: Please read my comparisons of the two and where it has gotten us?

May 16, 2010 Posted by admin

I live in New York and while walking through harlem though of a way werid way to describe TRUE Socialism vs. Today’s Capitalism: Buildings.

Say some of the rundown sh!thole buildings in harlem are Capitalist buildings and a Bronx or Brooklyn lofts are Socialist Buildings.

Socialist Building: Everyone in the building has a stake in the building and should worry about any and all repairs or issues that arise. Rent Prices are a base amount but rent increases can be determined on what shape the tenants keep the building in and how much landlord has had to spend on repairs/legal fees due to problem tenants. Should the building ever go coop — tenants would recieve a discount based on past contributions and the amount of time living in the building.

-Tenants buy plants to place in the hallways and lobbies — with their own money, yes everyone is allowed to look at the plants.
-Tenants respectfully ask each other to please clean up the laundry rooms and staircases — building never sees a mess in the hallways
-Tenants leave sign on the Roof Door asking all beer bottles and cigarette butts to be picked up after gethering on the roof – roof is always clean and presentable even though young people use it to party
-Tenants and Landlord take up a collection to add a new boiler which will help the Landlord provide 3 hours of heat a day instead of 2.
-Tenants and Landlord take the tenants contributions to the building into considerations before giving rent hikes every 2 years.
-Tenants play music at decent levels after 9pm – you do NOT have the ‘freedom’ to blast music at all hours — Building has ZERO Noise complaints every year.
-People make it a point to say hello even you walk by the person — no one is scared of each other, building feels safer.
-Everyone has privacy, no one has the right to enter your apartment simply because they put money into a ‘Renovation Fund’

Capitalist Building: Since we all pay rent, no one has the right to tell us anything. We do what we want, when we want and if it feels good, we’re going to do it in our apartment regardless of how it affects others. The fact that you worked hard for your rent money means you have complete freedom to do as you please once you walk in your apartment.

-No one decorates the hallways, MY purchases belong in MY apartment – empty delapidated hallways
-Hallways are painted when the landlord decides – Dirty hallways are painted every 3 years as per NY law.
-I pay rent so no one can tell me not to litter, that’s what the cleaning guy is for — Cleaning staff gets sick of filthy hallways and simply picks up potato chip bags and beer bottles leaving blankets of crusted dirt all over knowing it will show up again within 24 hours.
-I pay rent so I can play music as loud as I want – Police are called twice a month because someone is banging someone elses door down at 3am due to loud music — people start hating other, creating a ‘trapped’ feeling for tenants.
-I pay rent so I can smoke anything I want on the roof and no one can tell me sh!t — roof soon becomes filled with cigar tobacco, beer cans, urine and empty boxes of ez widers, this leads to the landloard placing a lock and alarm on the roof door.
-When the landlord takes up a collection for 2,000 dollars (around 50-75 dollars per tenant) to fix the boiler he’s met with “we pay rent, and the boiler wouldn’t even be mine — I’m not giving you money for a boiler to put in YOUR building” Boiler isn’t fixed and everyone complains about the Radiaters not getting hot enough.
-I pay rent with MY money so I can let my kids run a muck in the hallways using foul language and smoking whatever they want — if the noise goes into your apartment that’s YOUR problem. Remember I pay rent with MY money.
-Also when people of higher income start to leave the building due to it being a Sh!thole, the people of the Capitalist building tell the landlord to turn to the city for renovation funds then scream bloody murder when it takes more than 6 months.

Does this sound about right?
